Young King The Next Big Hip-Hop Artist

With the rap game changing faces with young artist such as Soulja Boy, Hurricane Chris, Bow Wow, Romoe and more. Doesn’t it make you think “who will be the Jay-Z of there era?” or “who will be the Lil Wayne or even the best rapper of this young generation?”, well if your wondering who it is theres only one name that can be said and he is not on that list his name Young King.
Representing the south with his heart Georgia to be exact Malik Abdulmalik better known as Young King, is the definition of New Hip Hop. Growing up listening to 2 pac, Out-Kast, Jay-z, The Hot Boyz Dr. Dre, Eminem, and B.I.G is what sets this southern hospitality rapper away from everyone in the game today.

His southern drawl is noticeable yet clear in interpretation.His presence as a light skin 6′3 hard body guy has already established himself with young ladies from all areas of schools,malls, websites,and clubs. But what really sets this young rapper away from these new artist in the game is his hardcore lyrics and full-throttle energy. Lines such as “Im like a tahoe in the game cuz imma GMC” and “I gotta keep pushin like mamas and baby strollas/ n rise to the top like fizz in coca cola” is what allows him to be called The Best Rapper of His Era and The New Hip Hop. ” Im not trying to be like nobody in the game I came to be me, When I spit through the mic I do it for the struggle i been through, the streets, and all the hustlers and lyrical rappers such as Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Jay-Z, T.I., Kanye West, Lupe Faisco, and Out-Kast.

I want to represent the south and show the world this is where Hip Hop lives and were not just about Cranking and Snapping I am ready to show the world who i am.”
With the struggle of his parents not supporting him with his music and not having money to get studio time or purchase beats, he started selling candy his middle school years and by his high school years he started his mixtapes. Not only is he a rapper but also a business man that tries and open ways for more opportunities for himself. But with music and money on his mind, school came last for him.King hooked up with a friend at school and started recording verses and remakes of any hot song at the moment. By his sophmore year he and his friend dropped thier first mixtape called “The Life of Some Young Geez”.

Selling it throught out school giving him a name and respect from upper classmen that he never had and also about five hundred dollars. By his senior year with his name floating around school he started battling students shutting each one down and then dropped his first solo mixtape called “The Southern Threat” giving him the name The Best Rapper Alive. Later in the year he started performing at open mics and show cases coming first place every time making the judges not think twice. Winning prizes and getting himself a name the only thing King wanted was respect.
With music as his life it just shows that this is an artist that will enter the game and never leave even after death. “People don’t understand what I think about the rap game as far as these new artist do, I don’t do this for the money and girls but for the fans and love i have for writing, performing and music itself.I feel as if you have a passion and love for something you wanna do you better go out there and get it and be the best at. I didn’t just wake up one morning and said “I wanna be a rapper, no!” I knew and everybody else knew that i loved music and that I was going to make it because this is what I live for and would die for, I prove it in every song and show it in every show.

” He also never dreamed about being a rapper. “I know alot of people who say there dream is to be a rapper, for me it was never like that because i am a rapper just because im not on your television and on tour with your favorite rapper doesn’t mean im not a rapper”. With his mind determined to take over the rap game and being called The Best Rapper of His Era, rapping about the streets, the struggles, girls, money, drugs, and being the best, Young King is the next biggest name to enter the music industry since Chris Brown.

Success in the music industry is notoriously difficult.
Whether it be theobstacle of not having the backing of
a major label, or the lack of respectand support from
superstar rappers and fans alike, the road to stardom is
far from easy. Many people have fallen at the hands of
these hardships.

One man who has thrived in these conditions is California
rapper Roccett.Born Jerome Rockett in 1983, and raised
in the rugged streets of Carson,Calif., the 24-year-old MC
learned about hustling and working hard at a young age.

The rough surroundings of crime and gangs in Carson molded
Roccett into a strong individual, and gave him the necessary
experience to share the struggles of what many people face.
After his initial dream of a basketball career didn't materialize,
he discovered he had a passion for hip-hop at the age of 16.
With his eyes clearly set on his new goal, he began laying
out the foundation for his success by performing shows
throughout Los Angeles.

Coming from the west coast, a region that has produced
stars like Snoop Dogg, Dr.Dre, N.W.A and many more, and famous
for its unique lifestyle,Roccett embodies what many west coast
rap fans love, while at the same time
displaying a versatility that makes him appealing to hip-hop
fans across the world.

His charisma and strong stage presence, combined with his
ability to craft stories about a wide array of subjects
earned the young rapper the respect of fans and caused the
industry to take notice. His talent and drive caught the
attention of Green Up Entertainment in 2004, and his
partnership with the company, which has worked with notables
like Usher and Tupac, has produced a sizable buzz.

Having already worked with
established stars like Young Jeezy, Fabolous, Killer Mike,
Knoc'turn'al and other rising rappers like Bishop Lamont
and Spider Loc at this young stage of his career, as well
as having critically acclaimed mixtapes under his belt,
Roccett's talent is clear. With so many dues paid, his
industry knowledge and the groundwork set,
Roccett is poised to make a lasting impression on hip-hop.

New Pop Singer Britt Harkins "Hop Back Up"

Britt Harkins is 13 years old and lives in Virginia. She began dancing at 2 ½ and singing at age 6. Between the ages of 4 and 10, Britt time-shared her dancing and singing with gymnastics. She competed at the state-level in gymnastics through the age of 10, after which she made a decision to pursue her strongest passion, dancing and singing, exclusively. She has never looked back. Her first break came in 2006 when she was selected as a member of a local Radio Disney pop group.

This group performed throughout Hampton Roads and North Carolina, performing at concerts with big name artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Raven, The Jonas Brothers and The Cheetah Girls and Hannah Montana. With the abolition of the local Radio Disney group in 2007, Britt and two originals from the group were routinely booked on weekends, touring throughout the Tidewater and Hampton Roads areas, performing at community festivals, small businesses, malls, and other community events. Recently, Britt has decided to go for her dream and become a solo artist. She has two professional teenage back-up dancers and will continue to perform locally. Included in her song sets will be her first single “Hop Back Up.” At age 12, Britt recorded this single and recently followed it up with a music video.

Britt has a very soulful voice and enjoys singing R&B and the more soulful Pop music. Her favorite artists are Christina Aguilera and JoJo. Britt’s goal is to utilize her strong, seasoned voice and her hip-hop dance expertise to bring a clean edge to music for today’s teens. Her dream is to one day top the billboard charts and be heard on the airwaves throughout the Nation.

KHIA (pronounced K-eye-ya) has become a female force in music to be reckoned with. "Who is KHIA?", you ask. Well…have you ever heard the song, "My Neck, My Back (Lick It)"? Oh please! Don't act like you don't know what song I'm talkin' bout! I'm talkin' bout the 2002 smash club single that gave every Bourgeoisie Bitch to the Hood Rats THE freedom to express herself in the club. When that song came on, every female in the club was either heading to the bar for another drink with one hand in the air or turning to the guy she came with that night to make sure he was listenin' to the lyrics.

Born in Philadelphia and raised in Tampa, Florida, KHIA has been writing and singing Rap, R&B, and Gospel all her life. She danced Tap, African, and was a boisterous cheerleader. She performed at school, in talent shows, and parades. She never failed to use her home as a stage when all else failed. And to this very day, KHIA still breathes to entertain through music.

KHIA's hip-hop career sprouted with her ear to the pulse of club trends. She bartended in Tampa's pace-setting Club XS, home to Wild 98.7FM, and the perfect venue for exploring crowd-moving vibes. It didn't hurt that her friends were the top local DJs and producers, and for years she had been writing music for other groups. When KHIA's mother met an untimely death in 2000 from kidney failure, it was a wake-up call to focus on herself and present her own talents to the public.

In 2002, KHIA honed her verbal skills so carefully that the THUG MISSES album flowed effortlessly. Her infamous single, "My Neck, My Back (Lick It)" was all over the country. Says KHIA of the album, "That album was dedicated to my Mom. I am seeing the rewards of her advice." KHIA's first album was solely written and produced by her. Distributed by Artemis Records, THUG MISSES set a huge example for females on the indie scene—one that has yet to be topped. "My Neck My Back" was also sold and featured on the soundtrack for Fox TV's "DARK ANGEL" show where other established artists such as Public Enemy; Q-Tip; MC Lyte; and Samantha Cole were also featured. Her single was also featured in films such as "40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN" and "IN THE DEEP" starring LL Cool J.

Passing her album to DJ'S; selling if from the trunk of cars; and getting it played through underground radio; KHIA was in demand with no video; no "Top 40" radio play; no promotion-- just skills. And with the demand for good female hip hop lyrics, KHIA didn't stop at THUG MISSES. In 2005, she released her sophomore album entitled, GANGSTRESS which featured her second hit single, "Snatch the Cat Back"—an elevated continuation of what her debut album had to offer.

During the Fall of 2006, KHIA was also featured on Music Legend, Janet Jackson's album, 2O Y.O.. The featured song, "So Excited" was Jackson's first single off of the milestone Virgin Records album. Trick Daddy's album, THUG MATRIMONY also featured KHIA on his single, "JODD".

KHIA does more than hold her own, spitting confident lyrics for the sisters who demand full sexual satisfaction while lacing a body-snapping beat for everyone in the club and her third album entitled, NASTY MUZIK via Big Cat Records/Tommy Boy will prove it. Soon to be released in late spring '08, her first single, "What They Do" featuring Gucci Mane will give listeners a glimpse of KHIA's growth as an Artist and Music Producer. "This album will really show my musical maturity. I had fun with this album. It is artistically fun and creative" says KHIA of her upcoming release. "Each song has it's own style and identity".

Despite the phenomenal success she's had independently, KHIA is quick to note that she has what it takes got to the next level. She doesn't just stand around with her homies, or rely on flashy dancers, sets, and costumes. She brings her own style and passion for the spectacular, and truly leaves her heart on stage. Her albums are real and everyone can relate to her storytelling and empowering lyrics.

KHIA is currently sharing her gift by writing for other Artists and she has just completed her first novel and book of poems that will also soon be released. A/K/A the Queen of the South, there is more to come from KHIA.
